Designing Clarity for Public Understanding
The Town of Ajax tasked Hatch Mott MacDonald with executing a Transportation Demand Management Plan, aimed at optimizing transportation systems for a growing population. My role was to design the final report, which would be distributed to the public. Initially, another designer had developed a concept, and I was tasked with refining the layout to ensure cohesiveness and enhance readability. The challenge was to present complex technical data in an engaging and understandable way for the general public. To achieve this, I focused on clean, organized layouts, thoughtful use of typography, and strategic placement of graphics. The design aimed to improve accessibility by breaking down intricate data and making it visually appealing, ensuring the public could easily navigate and comprehend the key elements of the report.
